Morgan has over 25 years’ international M&A and Private Equity experience spanning lead advisory, due diligence, banking and in-house as a CFO. Morgan qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen and following many years advising on and executing deals at NatWest and KPMG, he joined Dimensions Clothing, the UK’s leading supplier of uniforms and workwear, as CFO. At Dimensions, he oversaw significant international growth and led numerous acquisitions and strategic projects, most recently the £50m MBO, supported by LDC in 2019. Other career highlights include the £44m HBOS backed MBO of Sunseeker Yachts, the £49m sale of Nationwide Autocentres to Phoenix Equity Partners, the £32m sale of Brownhills Motorhomes to NBGI Private Equity and the cross-border sale of Centrepoint Insurance Services to US based Assurant.

James McBain Allan

James is an experienced deal maker focusing on domestic and international buy-outs of privately owned companies. James graduated from Loughborough University before qualifying as a chartered accountant, subsequently specialising in Corporate Finance. He has over 10 years experience of advising clients in the mid-market and career highlights include the cross-border sale of Camfaud Pumps for £50m, the £50m disposal of Davies Veterinary Group to Mars and the £30m private equity investment into Virgin Experience Days.

Ed Wesson

Ed has over seven years’ experience of Corporate Finance. He graduated from Manchester University and then qualified as an ICAEW chartered accountant. He has worked extensively for entrepreneurs with a particular focus on software and technology M&A. Career highlights include the recent sale of Virtual Recall Limited to Zoetis Group (USA), the £74m sale of Bowman Cold Stores to Americold Logistics (USA) and the sale of My School Portal to the Access Group.

Sam Reynolds

Sam qualified as a chartered ACA accountant before specialising in Corporate Finance. During his career he has worked across a diverse client base ranging from early-stage businesses to large corporates with a turnover in excess of £750m, but his specialism lies in owner-managed business and SMEs with an Enterprise Value between £5m and £50m. He has experience across a range of transactions including sales mandates, MBOs, exit strategy reviews and business valuations. Recent deals Sam has worked on include the MBO of Titan Motorsport (Winner of the Insider Awards <£10m Deal of the Year 2022) and the sale of Cambridge Bioscience & Research Doners to Nordic BioSite.

Darren Hagan

Darren is an ACA qualified accountant and has joined Bishopsgate as a Manager. He brings with him substantial financial expertise having worked with successful businesses across a variety of sectors at Grant Thornton. Darren graduated from Nottingham Business School with an Economics degree.

Joe Bates

Joe has joined Bishopsgate as an Associate, having previously studied for a Masters in Law at Sheffield University. Joe will be focussing on the financial aspects of M&A at Bishopsgate, but brings with him a depth of legal knowledge.

Rosie Glover

Simon Stephenson

Simon has over 25 years’ corporate finance experience. Simon trained in the City with Baring Brothers, before joining a London based M&A boutique, Chesham Amalgamations in the early 1990s. Over the years, Simon has worked extensively for owner managers and for the Private Equity community, including advising on over 30 transaction for 3i plc. Career highlights include the sale of Davies Veterinary to Mars, having previously advised the Davies team on two MBOs over a 10 year period, the acquisition of Bullitt Group by Exponent Private Equity and the disposal of Bourne Services Group to Johnsons for £22m.
